OnePlus fans will get to see the OnePlus 6T a little earlier than expected.

The Chinese technology firm has just announced that it is bringing the launch of its latest flagship smartphone forward by one day.

This means the release of the OnePlus 6T will now take place on October 29 at 11am rather than the original October 30 date.

OnePlus has had a torrid 24-hours after Apple decided to announce a major event on the same day as the OnePlus 6T was supposed to be revealed.

And it seems that the Chinese firm felt there was no option but to switch their event to another date.

In a statement on their community page the firm said: “A lot has changed in the past 24 hours.

“When we announced the launch of the OnePlus 6T on October 8, we were convinced our timing would allow us to maximize the amount of people we could reach with our message.

“That changed when Apple announced they would be hosting their own event on October 30.

“We couldn’t make this decision on our own. For hours, we talked to our press contacts to gain insight into how Apple’s announcement could affect the launch of the OnePlus 6T.

“We received considered, honest and thoughtful feedback.

“They showed us that if we chose to stick to our original timeline, launching the OnePlus 6T on October 30, we would be overshadowed by Apple.

“We are moving the event a day early so we can all experience the latest technology, together.”

Although getting an early glimpse of the OnePlus 6T will be good news for some fans others may not be so excited about the date change.

OnePlus has invited members of its community to join them in New York for the grand unveiling and it could mean many will now have to change their travel plans to attend the event.

“To those affected, we know sorry isn’t good enough. So, we will do everything in our power to make things right,” added OnePlus

“Starting with those of you who own a ticket, but won’t be able to make the event. Everyone who owns a ticket will be able to apply for a full refund for their ticket.

“We hope that you will understand our decision.”

The OnePlus 6T is expected to bring plenty of innovations to this mid-range device including an in-screen fingerprint scanner.

This will allow users to unlock the phone via a simple touch on the display.

Other extras could include a bigger battery, improved camera and the option to charge the device wirelessly.

One thing that we do know is that the OnePlus 6T won’t feature a headphone port with the space it takes up replaced by new innovations.

In a recent interview with TechRadar, Carl Pei, one of OnePlus’ co-founders, said: ”By removing the jack we’ve freed up more space, allowing us to put more new technology into the product.

“One of the big things is something our users have asked us for, improved battery life.

“We’re adding an adapter to the box, allowing you to use your 3.5mm headphones normally.”

Apple revealed news of its event late last night with the US technology firm sending out invites to media with the words, “There’s more in the making.”

Rumours have been rife for months that Apple is planning to refresh its iPad, MacBook Air and Apple Pencil lineup.

Some experts are predicting the new iPad Pro will feature an all-screen display which will cover almost the entire front of the device.

Faster processor, better camera and the addition of Face ID are also expected, with this the first iPad to lose the famous home button.

Along with a new iPad, there’s plenty of rumours suggesting that Apple will release a new MacBook Air.

This popular laptop hasn’t had a major upgrade in years and it could finally be time to see some new features arriving on the portable powerhouse.

Improved Retina display, new keyboard and faster processor could feature along with a refreshed design.

Apple’s October keynote takes place on October 30 at 10am local time – 3pm GMT.
