It’s ridiculously expensive, but this is without a doubt the best Dyson around. If that’s what you’re looking for, you won’t be disappointed

What we love

  • Reveals Hidden Grime
  • Gamifies Cleaning
  • Battery Life Is Superb
  • Clever Dust Bin

A cordless vacuum cleaner guided by lasers might sound like a ridiculous gimmick …but it’s genuinely astonishing what you’ll find hidden in plain sight in your home when you start to use one. Cleaning with the Dyson V15 Detect is hugely satisfying – watching the carpet of muck that you’re about to obliterate with the powerful suction.

As well as illuminating hidden dust and dirt around the home, the laser on the Dyson V15 Detect gamifies the weekly clean around the home, with the cordless vacuum even clocking up a high score of the amount of grime stripped from your carpets, sofas, car seats, and hardwood floors.

The anti-tangle Hair Screw is a nice addition that’ll save you the arduous task of taking a pair of scissors to free the roller inside the motorised head once a month. And the new piezo sensor means this vacuum only uses full power when it really needs it, so you won’t need to worry about battery life as you power around the house.

At almost £630 when bought full price, you’ll want to find one of the best Dyson cordless vacuum cleaner deals around before you commit. But if you do decide to buy, this is undoubtedly the best Dyson cordless vacuum cleaner on the market right now.

Dyson V15 Detect review

It’s not often that we get excited about testing a new vacuum cleaner, but when the Dyson V15 Detect arrived at our front door, we couldn’t wait to rip open the box and start cleaning.

Why, you ask? Well, this latest Dyson includes some never-before-seen features, including a futuristic laser that shows exactly where the microscopic muck on your floor is hiding, making it easier to spot and get it sucked up. It also counts the particles, so you know exactly how unclean your house was. This laser-guided system certainly sounds impressive, but does it actually work and does it mean the V15 Detect is really worth the £600 that Dyson wants you to stump up to own one?

Now, you might be thinking that a laser-guided vacuum cleaner is just a gargantuan gimmick from Dyson to tempt you into buying a new gadget. And honestly, when we first heard about the technology… that thought crossed our minds too.

Founded by inventor James Dyson back in 1978, Dyson is no stranger to pushing the boundaries of new technologies.

This laser-guided vacuum is expensive, but if you’re looking for the ultimate Dyson cordless cleaner …you shouldn’t hesitate to buy one

But we have to admit, the Dyson V15 Detect continues in that tradition. Snap-on the laser cleaning head, hit the power button, and a ray of green light spills out across the floor in front of you – revealing every bit of grim, crumbs, and even the tiniest spec of dust is trying to hide.

There’s something immensely satisfying about sucking up those bits of hair, crushed rice crispies, and fluff you’d usually miss with a standard vacuum and there’s no doubt that it really works …well, most of the time.
